Eating LA!:
This month the three of us headed to LA on business. (Big shoutout to Reed's parents for coming with us to watch Sawyer while we went to meetings!) In true foodie fashion, we made sure to sneak in as many meals as we could! Here were our favorite spots:
Cha Cha Matcha - a matcha lovers dream <3 This may have been the best matcha latte I've had. Creamy, FULL of matcha flavor, unsweetened and not one bit bitter.
Otium - We first heard of this restaurant when the chef owner won The Final Table on Netflix. I would definitely recommend the show and would definitely definitely definitely recommend the restaurant. I have never ever ever eaten food with more flavor. Each bite was irresistible!
Cafe Gratitude - Anytime there is a Cafe Gratitude within a 50 mile radius, I will be there.
I first discovered this plant based restaurant chain when I lived in San Diego (get my SD eating guide here!) and have been scheming up ways to get them to open a location in Eastern Washington ever since I moved.
Butcher's Daughter - DELICIOUS plant based food in a gorgeous rustic modern setting. Pizza, sandwiches, salads, creative drinks, and loads of happiness.
Traveling with a Baby:
I was nervous about this trip. Traveling with a 6 month old baby on multiple flights and in one of the busiest cities in America seemed like it was ripe for meltdowns.
The biggest source of nerves: the flights. Would the changing pressure cause Sawyer to cry? Would the pressure to calm a crying baby cause me to cry?!
We were blessed with the kindest, most understanding seat mates on all our flights. Sawyer kept his tears to a minimum and on one of our flights the person we sat next to even took the time to pray for us. Good people are out there.
This Month's Thoughts:
I have been thinking a lot lately about calling. Not what I want to do, not what the world says I should be doing, but what God calls me to do. I am not sure yet. No definite answers. And I think that's okay. I'll keep listening.
Loving Lately:
Nespresso Machine: I am working with Nespresso on an upcoming sponsored post and was sent a Nespresso Machine. How did I ever live without one before?! I have been living for my afternoon cup of coffee which is brewed perfectly with the fluffiest and creamiest layer of foam on top. Not sponsored here. Just in LOVE.
Shooting Video: I've gotten back into shooting video for clients and the blog and I am loving it. I forgot how much I enjoy the creative planning and energy that goes into each video. Here and here are my most recent recipe videos.
Baby Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit: This suit lives up to it's name. Not only does it make Sawyer look like the cutest astronaut around, he is finally napping for more than 30 minutes at a time. I have a well rested, energetic, happy, thriving baby and 2 one and a half hour naps (aka work sessions) back in my day. Magic.
